Choosing the perfect track or audio is a critical step in any video project, setting the tone and mood that can significantly impact its success. However, just because a track seems ideal for your project doesn't mean you can freely use it. Under copyright law, all intellectual property, including music, is automatically copyrighted.
Royalty Free Music refers to music that can be licensed for a one-time fee and used for as long as desired in accordance with the terms without the need to pay additional royalties or fees for each use.
It's not limited to personal listening; it's specifically licensed for commercial use. This means you have the right to use it in your videos, on your website, or in other commercial projects.
In summary, utilizing royalty free music ensures your content remains compliant with copyright laws and protects it from potential copyright claims or takedowns by streaming platforms' Content ID systems.
Is Royalty Free Music free?
No, it's not necessarily free, especially for commercial use. However, here at Berool Music, we offer FREE DOWNLOADs for personal non-commercial use. For commercial projects, our licenses start at just $9. Check the License Terms to see which license is suitable for your project. If you're unsure, feel free to contact us for clarification!
Is Royalty Free Music the same as Copyright Free?
No, Royalty Free Music is not the same as Copyright Free. When you license a track, you're purchasing the right to use it in your project, but it doesn't mean you own the copyright.
If you're referring to Copyright Claim Free, it means music is free of copyright claims, indicating it's not registered in the Content ID system. However, it's still copyrighted material.
Is Royalty Free Music free of Performance Royalties?
No. It’s different. However, the user doesn’t pay performance royalties – that’s the job of the performance rights organizations (PROs) – so you shouldn’t have to worry about it.
No, this is not allowed. Berool Music is a production music library, and our tracks are licensed for synchronization in various media productions, such as websites, videos, DVDs, TV broadcasts, films, and games, as background music. You cannot sing over the music track, add instruments, and market the results as your own music or song, even if you modify the original track or add additional elements. This is considered a "Derivative Work" and is not permitted. Berool Music retains the copyright of the music composition and recording.
You are allowed to record your voice and use our music as background for audiobooks, storytelling, hypnotherapy, guided meditation, self-help programs, or any form of narration. However, the music should not be marketed as a "song" or musical product. The purpose of the music should remain background support for the narration, and the copyright of the music remains with the composer and the publisher. Please note that if your project generates revenue and you distribute more than 1,000 copies, you will require a Extended License.
Once you've purchased a license from our site, you'll have the choice to download the music in high-quality WAV format and also in MP3 format to suit your needs.
Customers often opt for the broadcast-quality .wav files for projects like television or radio broadcasts, DVDs, or CD-ROMs. However, many also require the compressed MP3 version for web-based projects, such as background music for websites.
For our EXTENDED and UNLIMITED licenses we also provide WAV STEMS. Stems are simply isolated audio files of the different components of a song, made available to filmmakers who need to alter a track to better fit their edit.
Please note that versions (60, 30 Sec Edits, Loops, Logos, etc), stems are exclusively delivered in WAV.
Music Stems are isolated audio files of the different components of a song, allowing for greater flexibility in editing and customization. For example, a typical indie rock song may have stem files for guitars, drums, bass, keys, and vocals.
By placing each of these files on their own audio track, all starting at the same time, users can adjust the volume of individual elements or even remove one altogether to create a customized mix.
Perhaps you've found a track that would be perfect if it didn't have a particular instrument, or maybe the drums are too dominant for your project. With stem files, these issues can be swiftly resolved, saving time on music selection.
At Berool Music, we offer STEM files starting from our EXTENDED license tier. For $49, you can access stems for any track, enabling you to tailor the music precisely to your project's needs.
Yes. The license permits usage of the music in a personal or professional context for yourself, your clients, or your employer. Our music may not be sold by itself, transferred, bartered, traded, shared, leased, or given away to any other party, and the license may not be subleased to a third party. Our music cannot be resold except to the extent that it is embedded in your own work as part of a finished end product. You may not market the music as your own, even if you add other instruments or a voice to the music. You may not sing over the music and sell or distribute the song.
Please see the License Terms for further information.
If you are unsure whether the usage you are entertaining falls under our limitations of use, please contact us.
Commercial usage rights are determined by the type of license purchased for each track and are limited to one end product (client work allowed). We offer the following options:
You can also FREE DOWNLOAD each track and use it for personal non-commercial purposes. Please credit: “Music by Berool (https://beroolmusic.com)".
To ensure fair compensation for our composer, cue sheets must be completed for publicly broadcast productions like TV, radio, film, theatrical productions, and advertisements.
What is a PRO?
PROs (Performing Rights Organizations) manage music rights and have agreements with broadcasters. In the US, they include ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC; in the UK, PRS; in Canada, SOCAN, etc. Our PRO is BMI. Since our compositions are self-published, Composer Oleh Boretskyi (BMI IPI: 01048501089) retains a 200% share (100% Composer and 100% Publisher Share).
What does this have to do with me?
If you've purchased a TV & radio broadcast EXTENDED or UNLIMITED license, you're not required to pay additional fees; this is managed by the broadcaster and PRO. However, you must accurately report the music used in your project to the PRO and us, the music publisher.
How do I report the music used in my project?
Music is reported in a cue sheet, detailing all music used in an audio or audiovisual production for public broadcast. For more info, see BMI's "What is a Cue Sheet?". Once completed, ensure you or your production company submits it electronically to BMI (cuesheets@bmi.com) and to us (beroolmusic@gmail.com).
